Regarding the product offered: The concept of demolition-free 1-day mold remediation for our entire home (1492 sq ft) is outstanding. Wow! Not only is the mold dead but we understand it also kills the bacteria and allergens that were lurking around. Being EPA approved as well was very reassuring. We have a lot of boxes in the basement and a mold inspection company had told us we would have to throw them all out. That same company advised us to throw out all the spare furniture we were storing. In addition, we had to do pretty much clear the basement before the mold remediation people would even begin to work. Ray and Matt: You two were the best. Ray, you are exactly who homeowners want to own a business… responsive, caring about the health of the homeowners, willing to go the extra mile to get the job done (e.g. the tricky furnace), your professionalism, and the fact you want to know how we are doing in a few months – long after you are gone. Matt, if it were not for you, we would have ended up with a traditional mold remediation company and a lot poorer. We were impressed with your responsiveness, calm in your voice, knowledge of the fog product, confident it would do the job, reassuring that we did not have to scramble and get rid of things, and that our gas-hot-air heating system would be restored to a mold-free state and we could once again turn the heat on… and of course, your professionalism. Price: A prior estimate we had received from a mold remediation company was that the job was going to take about 5 days, and we would have to leave our home for that period, it would cost about $15,000 for the remediation, pay for a hotel and meals for 5 days for ourselves, about $2,000 more for a commercial grade de-humidifier for the basement, pay an unknown amount for a plumber to hook it into on of our PVC pipes in the basement, and finally, $3,000 to put the work crew up for 5 days. And if it did not pass the next air quality test ($1,700), pay an additional amount for them to return and work on it again. Figure about $24,000 total, minimum, without our hotel expenses. Your price of $2,250 sounded too good to be true at first, which included all testing, pre and post treatment. After talking to you, Matt, reviewing your website, and checking reviews of Pure Maintenance across the country, it became clear, you were the answer, and we were quite confident at that point it was the right decision. Affect on us: The first day when we returned in the afternoon, there was a slight smell of vinegar, and it soon dissipated, as you, Matt, had explained it would. The basement had a slight musty smell at the base of the stairs that also dissipated, also as you, Matt, had explained. The rest of the basement smelled so fresh, like mountain air. It was wonderful to be able to turn on the house heat once again. The second day, my husband awoke without all the usual morning congestion. I never found a need for my allergy medication; I was fine all day. The third day, I awoke after 6 hours of sleep, which is my norm; I had been sleeping 8-9 hours a night. Recommendation: In our humble opinion, if you have mold, Pure Maintenance of New England is the way to go, there is no doubt in our minds.
